Good Clinical Practice (GCP)

Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is the international ethical, scientific and practical standard to which all clinical research is conducted. The course can be accessed by clicking the link below.

It is important that everyone involved in research is trained or appropriately experienced to perform the specific tasks they are being asked to undertake. GCP training is a requirement set out in the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research developed by the Health Research Authority.

The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) offer e-learning and a certificate that is required before you can start recruiting patients and beginning research of your own in order to ensure you are following Good Clinical Practice.

The course is free for those who work with or are students of the NHS, UK universities, and other publicly funded organisations conducting and supporting clinical research.
